Common apps I'm using on Mac (2021)
Note: I also have a post explaining how I customized my keyboard with Karabiner for a smooth Linux -> Mac transition.
Alfred

Well known macOS app that allows quick search and easy hotkeys setup on your Mac. An handy app to customize the way you start your applications or navigate the os.
AltTab

Thanks to this AltTab, you can customize the bindings to switch between windows. Personally, I configured ALT + TAB for a similar experience as Windows or Linux. It also offers a bunch of other interaction possibilities and appearance customizations not available natively on Mac.
Dato

Dato is a cool app if you are looking for adding a calendar to your menu bar clock. Clicking the macOS menu bar clock will open a calendar you can sync your Calendar app with. Even if I don’t use the feature it seems you have the possibility to add world clocks to juggle between different timezones, neat!
Espanso

Espanso is just the best open source text expander out there. If you type a lot of emails which require some templating, it’s a must. Highly recommended app.
Mos

Sometimes, depending on the mouse you are using, scroll could be slow, laggy or jumpy. Mos is a small tool to smooth scrolling as well as setting scroll direction independently for your third-party mouses on macOS.
SensibleSideButtons

If you doesn’t use a magic mouse but a regular mouse compatible PC, side buttons probably don’t work. SensibleSideButtons enhance third-party mouse side buttons to add navigation capabilities back / forward. Very useful.
